Chic, intimate and effortlessly elegant at home wedding in Wales
Izzy and Joey’s stylish back garden wedding in Wales was the perfect blend of coastal drama and intimate at-home celebration. Set against panoramic sea views, their cliff-edge ceremony captured everything couples dream of when planning a Welsh coastal wedding, fresh air, endless horizon and that feeling of complete freedom.
The morning began at a local Airbnb near the coast, where preparations felt calm and full of anticipation. With beautiful natural light pouring through the windows, it was the kind of setting that lends itself effortlessly to both digital and 35mm film photography. Shooting across both formats allowed me to document the day with a mix of refined clarity and nostalgic softness, a combination that perfectly suited Izzy and Joey’s relaxed, stylish energy.
Their ceremony took place on the cliff edge overlooking the sea in Wales, surrounded by their closest people. The weather couldn’t have been more generous, bright skies, gentle breeze, and uninterrupted views across the Welsh coastline. It was breathtaking without feeling overwhelming, intimate despite the vast landscape, an ofcourse we had to go right to the edge for some stunning portraits.

The reception moved back to Joey’s parents’ beautiful family home, where a marquee had been set up in the garden. It felt deeply personal, from the homegrown produce used to create the food, to the outdoor speeches delivered under blue skies. The speeches were some of the best I’ve ever witnessed: heartfelt, hilarious and completely reflective of the warmth in the crowd. Stylish back garden weddings are quickly becoming my favourite.
Every guest brought style and personality, creating an atmosphere that felt elevated yet completely relaxed. Izzy and Joey stayed present all day, never rushed, never pulled away from the moment. Their back garden wedding was proof that you don’t need a traditional venue to create something extraordinary… just a meaningful location, incredible views and the people who matter most.
